What Students and Parents have said

“My life’s path has led me to become part of a very exciting and vital
educational venture here at The Waldorf College Project in Stroud, where we learn from hands-on experience. We are involved in constructing our
curriculum and are given responsibility and opportunity which encourages our
self-motivation and interests to grow and develop in ways that are not given in the confines of the usual system. We are encouraged and helped to
discover the importance and relevance of what we learn…”
Aristazabal Hawkes, Founding Student

“The college enables you to become an individual and the best individual that you can be...”
Finola Reynolds, Second Year Student

“I really did not expect the college to make me think this much.... about what I am doing... and who I am.”
Oisin Hayward, Second Year Student

“..It took a leap of faith for me to send my son to the Waldorf College, (not least financially) . We did not know how it would be for him living away from home, making new friends, going somewhere with such a different approach. But I have been thrilled with how he has developed this year. He is a person with many talents, but in the Comprehensive school where he was previously he did the minimum of work, got mediocre results. They did not draw out the best in him. Since coming to Waldorf College, I see bright eyes each weekend when he comes home. He is bursting to tell me that this happened or that was SO interesting. He has been inspired by so many of the projects: Environmental Science, Rough Science, particularly ironwork, Art, Storytelling, Stained Glass, Photography, the Wilderness week, the trip to Lapland, not to mention the meetings and facilitation process. He once came home and said, “Mum I’m so tired... tired with so much thinking...” I see a young man who is blossoming. Candy Verney, Parent

“The college gives us freedom, to be true to ourselves and to pursue our passions or deeper interests. We are encouraged to work with the elements and rebuild our connection with the land... We have over time removed ourselves in so many ways from what is real, solid and sacred on our planet and the earth. A sustainable approach to education is a step we need to take...”
Freja Frosch, Founding Student
