The Process

The educational process offered at the Waldorf College Project is to satisfy the student's latent commitment and potential dedication to the well-being of the Earth and fellow human beings. Education for Sustainability both in practice and theory are integral to all aspects of the Curriculum

Core Subjects

The core subjects such as mathematics, geography, biology, English literature, history etc. are studied and taken up in integrated thematic project blocks.

Thematic Projects

The thematic projects are delivered with a multidisciplinary and cross-curricular approach.

All thematic projects include practical and investigative learning that combine the following disciplines/activities:
• Visual Arts
• Music Eurythmy/Dance
• Practical Crafts
• Media
• Documentation/studies
• Journeying/expeditions
• Cultural visits
• Professional workplace visits
• Community oriented projects
• Projects in the landscape
• Core skill development in maths and literacy

Weekly Subjects

Subjects such as literacy and numeracy skills, movement/P.E., art, crafts etc. are part of the weekly timetable. Local tutors and experts deliver these subjects.

Collaborative and Co-operative Learning

The Director of Education has several key roles within the College. These include the co-ordination of part-time tutors with a variety of known specialists in different disciplines. The Director is also responsible, with the students and tutors participation, for deciding on the content of the integrated thematic projects.

Students undertake individual and group projects leading to work that is continually assessed. This process includes regular assessment review and presentation.

Individual and group project content is sourced by:
Tutor input/lectures, Individual/group research guided by Tutor, Field trips/academic excursions and sourcing local expertise.
